I’ve been thinking about discouragement lately. Mainly about how quickly we sometimes fall victim to it. It doesn’t take much—one rejection, the unexpected, delay, defeat, others opinion, fear and the all too familiar “what if…”. Pull the trigger on any of these bad boys and we hit the floor, shaken and sometimes broken.
I’ve realized that discouragement is an identity issue. When we are ignorant of
who we are whose we are, the darts of discouragement will hit the mark every time. On the contrary, when we have revelation of God’s love for us and the accomplishment of Christ at Calvary, we can rest confidently. Yes, when we know the truth of what Christ has done for us we will rest confidently, clothed in his armor, quenching the fiery darts of Satan with our shield of faith.
