God’s love for you is something you need never be uncertain about. God-loves-you! I know that you know the scripture that says “God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son…,” but it is time you start to believe it too. (John 3:16) Yep, it is time you believe that God loves you.
Jesus is, was, and has because of you. He is seated at God’s right hand interceding, because of you. (Romans 8:34) He was beaten, crushed and bruised, because of you. (Isaiah 53:5) And he has defeated Satan, because of you. (John 19:30) The kicker is that it was all God’s idea—because God loves you! Isaiah 53:10 says “it pleased the Lord to bruise him [Jesus] and cause him to suffer…For he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.” The transgressors—yes, that’s you. Now why would God be pleased to bruise his only son and cause him to suffer? Oh wait, I know, because God loves you.
Every Resurrection Sunday (aka, Easter), when we celebrate our risen Savior, I am reminded of the fact that Jesus was born, crucified and raised back to life all because God loves you and I. Resurrection Sunday is all about Jesus, but all he did he did for you, because God loves you. It’s surprising that any of us would ever fix our mouths to question God’s love for us. If God does not love us, then who does? If God does not love us, then who can?
It is Jesus’ heart to reveal to you the Father’s love for you. Let him. Jesus said in John 6:38-40, “For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me. And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all those he has given me, but raise them up at the last day. For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.”
Sons and daughters, brothers and sisters, Pookie and Tookie :-), God loves you! He is your Abba Father who did not spare his own son, but gave him up for you. He is your father who, along with Christ (his very best), will graciously give you all else that you need. (Romans 8:32) Cease to allow the cares and troubles of this world to cause you to question God’s love for you. Your earthly troubles do not negate God’s love. In fact, he warned you of troubles ahead of time and assured you of victory. (John 16:33) God loves you and there is nothing, absolutely nothing that can ever quench his love.
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written: “For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:35 – 39)
