What good is the word of God to you if you will not believe it or do what it says? When you read your Bible, when you listen to the Word of God, don’t simply read it or listen to it, believe it and do what it says! Otherwise, you are only fooling yourself. For if you listen to the Word and don’t obey, it is like looking at your face in a mirror. You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like. But if you look carefully into the perfect law that sets you free, and if you do what it says and don’t forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it (James 1:22 – 25).
You can trust the word of God. It is a lamp to your feet and a light for your path (Psalm 119:105). You need the word of God. Man does not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God ( Matthew 4:4).
Yes, you can read, hear, and believe the word of God! It is life giving. The word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart (Hebrews 4:12).
The of word God is the Truth and if you hold on to the teachings of Truth, you are really a disciple of Christ—and you will know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free (John 8:31 -32).
